Professional outreach
Prepare, communicate clearly, schedule responsibly, and represent the program with confidence.
A youth program of IBSA Inc.
Available throughout the United States, Streets University connects youth ages 14+ with small businesses and nonprofits in their own communities. Students learn professional outreach, interviewing, digital publishing, and financial skills—then earn for work they complete.
How the model works
StreetsU is not a classroom simulation. Youth across the United States complete guided projects for businesses and nonprofits in their communities while trained adults provide structure, coaching, and accountability.
The model can be implemented city by city through local partner organizations. Each completed milestone builds a portfolio of evidence: a conversation held, a relationship formed, a profile published, and a commitment kept.
Prepare, communicate clearly, schedule responsibly, and represent the program with confidence.
Ask useful questions, listen closely, identify value, and turn details into an accurate story.
Create and maintain profiles in WordPress using categories, tags, descriptions, and quality checks.
Connect effort to earnings while learning commissions, renewals, budgeting, and customer service.

Build confidence, communication habits, digital fluency, and relationships with supportive adults—while producing useful work in your community.
Share your story with a trained young interviewer and gain an online profile. Projects may use the U.S. Small Business Directory, the Kansas Small Business Directory, or another IBSA-managed directory appropriate to the community.
Sponsorship supports youth training, program materials, technology access, and compensation tied to completed work.
